Growing up amongst bushland on the outskirts of Perth — the world’s most isolated capital city — brothers Karl and Myles Conti fell in love with movies from a very early age. A trip to the drive-in, or the cinema, offered a window to an outside world, both real and imagined — where characters, places, costumes, scenery, music and stories would leap from the screen and enter their dreams. But growing up in the 80s, on the other side of the world, the idea of going to Hollywood — where movies were made — was as fanciful as visiting a galaxy far, far away.

At the turn of the century, the brothers made the move east to Sydney — arriving at a time when films like The Matrix and the Star Wars prequels also came to town. They began making short films, started collaborating with like-minded people, and before long their hobby had turned into paid gigs. In 2007, ten years after Myles first moved to Sydney, they established Conti Bros Films — a boutique production and post company built to service agencies and brands while developing their own documentary and narrative projects.

In the years since, the company has produced thousands of television commercials, music videos, and short-form television programs, alongside multiple documentaries and a growing slate of award-winning short films and independent features — employing hundreds of artists and crew members while working across Australia and in multiple countries around the world. In 2026, Karl returned to Western Australia to open a Perth office, bringing full east-west coverage to the company’s production capabilities.
